Malcolm X was born in Omaha, Nebraska in the United States on May 9th in 1925. He died or was assassinated in 1965 in New York, New York. Malcolm was an African American and was a writer.

So, born as Malcolm Little, Malcolm later changes his name into Malcolm X. He is also known as his religious name; El Hajj Malik El Shabazz. The article begins by stating that Malclom was exposed to white supremacists at an early age. His father was a baptist minister. He followed a Jamaican nationalists named Marcus Garvey. The article said that Kkk tried to prevent Reverend Little from inciting the "good" blacks with Garvey's teachings. After their threat, the Littles moved to Mason, Michigan, where the racial climate was no better. In 1929, their home was burned down by the Black Legion, A white supremacists group. Later on, they murdered Malcolm's father by throwing him in front of a trolley car. Louis Little was left all alone to care for her children. Well, eventually the stress had gotten into her head and she had a mental breakdown. She was taken to a mental institution. In about 7th grade, the article stated that Malcolm told his English teacher that he wanted to become a lawyer, but the teacher said to "be realistic." Malcolm was heart broken from the teacher's feedback, so he moved to Boston Massachussetts to live with his half sister. Malcolm started to struggle in school and dropped out after the 8th grade, but he also held several minor jobs. Later, turning into a life of breaking laws, Malcolm had gotten a nickname- Detroit Red. This name was derived from his fair complexion a red hair, explained in the article. He waas known a hustler, pimp, and a drug dealer. The article aid that Malcolm was arrested in early 1946 charged with robbery. Malcolm wasn't even 21 yet. He was sentenced to 10 yeaars in jail. The article stated that Malcoolm was very rebellious in jail. "I would pace for hours like a leoperd, viciously cursing aloud to myself." In the article, it said that another thief or convict named Bimbi, introduced Malcolm to the prison's extensive library, and he began his education anew. When Malcolm's foster famil told him that they had converted to the teahings of Muhammad, Malcolm started to lean or shift into learning about his teachings. Soon, Malcolm started sending daily letters to the "Messenger of Allah." After Malcolm's release in 1952, Malcolm had officially become o follower of Muhammad. The article stated that he took the name Malcolm X to signify the loss of his true African name and reject the slave name of Little. In 1953, Malcolm became the assistant minister at of Detroit's Temple Number one of the Nation of Islam. The article stated that Malcolm believed that a black person would gravitate to Muhammad's teachings. Malcolm had gotten more popular among the Nation of Islam. Soon, he had become Muhammad's National Representative and in 1954, the head of a mosque in Harlem. The article stated that there, he achieved and impressive status as an articulate, mercurial,spokesperson for the racial black perspective. Peter Goldman replied, "Off stage and off camera, he was a man of enormous charm, priestly in his bearing and his private life, warm and wity in company, gallant toward white people even in the days when he considered them universally and irremediably evil. But given a platform and a microphone, he became a pitiless scold." The article stated that Malcolm declared the whites as the enemies of blacks, and he cheered at tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, airplane crashes, and even the Kennedy assassination. He termed that killing"a case of chickens coming home to roost." This statement brutally damaged his career. He laer explained that "the hate in white men had ......finally struck downt eh president, but was immediately censored by Muhammad himself. "That was a very bad statement," he said. "The country loved this man." Muhammad then told Malcolm to refrain from public comment for 90 days. From the article, it says that Malcolm was feeling estranged from Muhammad, and concealed the dedication to his auto-biography in-prgress, he had written," Muhammad had found me in the muck and mire of the filthiest civilization and society on the earth , and made me the man i am today." Malcolm gradually started to officialy break away from the Nation of Islam and made a trip or pilgrimage to Mecca for religion. This is where he took the nam El Hajj Malik El Shabazz. The ariticle explained that Malcolm underwent a transformation in his beliefs. He explained this in his auto-biography. "Since I learned the truth in Mecca, my dearest friends have come to include all kinds; some Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, Agnostics, and even athiest. I have friends who are called Capitalists, Socialists, and Communists. Some of my friends are moderates, conservatives, and extremists. Some are even uncle Tom's. My friends today are black, brown, yellow, red and white. " On a diplomatic trip to Africa, Malcolm began uniting blacks across the world. The artical stated that Muhammad wrote in his periodic "Muhammad Speaks" that Malcolm was "worthy of death". Malcolm soon discovered that they were plotting to kill him. On February 21st, 1965, Malcolm was assassinated while addressing an audience of 400 in the Audubon Ballroom in Harlem.
